Next Generation SMEs kick-off meeting

On 26 and 27 September 2024, the team of CBE-GEIE participated in the kick-off meeting of the project “Next Generation SMEs: Promoting Succession Planning for Family-Led Businesses”, held in Malta.

The meeting represented a key milestone for the launch of the project activities, offering the opportunity to meet the international partnership for the first time. The consortium brings together organisations from several European countries, including Malta, Germany, Cyprus, Italy, and Spain, creating a network of diverse and complementary expertise.

Over the next two years, the partners will work together to contribute to the European Union’s objectives in terms of promoting entrepreneurship, economic growth, and sustainable development. The project specifically focuses on strengthening family-run small and medium-sized enterprises, with the aim of supporting them in generational succession processes.

This first meeting marks the beginning of a journey aimed at providing concrete tools for effective succession planning, addressing key challenges such as professionalisation, financial stability, and innovation capacity. The goal is to ensure continuity and competitiveness for family businesses, supporting their long-term growth.

CBE will actively contribute to the project by providing expertise and resources useful both for current entrepreneurs and for future generations involved in business management. The shared objective is to support the longevity and prosperity of European SMEs, enhancing their key role in the continent’s economic fabric.
