Province of Sondrio and CBE-GEIE: discussion on the future Europe Office and opportunities under EU programmes
On 2 October 2025, a coordination meeting was held at the Province of Sondrio between representatives of Coopération Bancaire pour l’Europe – GEIE, which supports the Province in the process of establishing its future Provincial Europe Office.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing activities and prospects for collaboration, with the aim of strengthening the territory’s participation in European programmes, particularly Horizon Europe, the European Union’s main funding instrument for research and innovation.
During the meeting, several key projects were examined in greater detail, including MINERVA, focused on climate adaptation and the sustainable management of water resources in mountain areas through nature-based solutions, and ECOTRANSFORM, aimed at promoting circular economy models in the construction, manufacturing, and textile sectors.
The collaboration between CBE-GEIE and the Province of Sondrio confirms the value of a structured dialogue between the European and local levels, capable of translating local priorities into Europe-wide initiatives, fostering sustainable development, innovation, and new opportunities for local communities.
