The INCREA project is dedicated to supporting migrants/refugees and social workers in their integration process within European societies, enhancing their language and entrepreneurial skills through the use of ICT tools.
Building on their personal cultural backgrounds, the project has developed a comprehensive set of educational materials aimed at addressing the lack of adequate language and employability skills (including digital skills) and at promoting the learning of language, entrepreneurial, and digital competences to foster an entrepreneurial mindset.
Goals
- Contributing to bridging the lack of adequate language skills: Socially, culturally, and linguistically, migrant populations are extremely diverse, both in terms of educational capital and the presence of vulnerable groups. For this reason, the development of different courses according to skill levels has been planned.
- Contributing to bridging the lack of professional and employability skills: The proposed project combines language learning with entrepreneurial learning (i.e., how to start a business, understand national regulations, and acquire practical and transferable skills related to entrepreneurship) and digital skills. Moreover, the proposed project focuses on the creative sector with the aim of helping migrants/refugees leverage their cultural background to promote social inclusion and growth. Language learning is more practical and anchored in real professional life.
Results
- Identification of migrants’ skill gaps related to: language and digital skills, entrepreneurial skills;
- Develop specific curricula to support migrants’ language learning, combining the acquisition of entrepreneurial and digital skills applied in the creative sector;
- Develop and test new ICT tools to provide the aforementioned skills to the target migrants/refugees;
- Development of a “From Migrant to Creative Entrepreneur” handbook.
